EXAMPLE 5, UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE COVERAGE


In the United States, one of the most interesting examples of conflicts with rights versus laws is President George H. W. Bush’s “War On Drugs.” I support the War On Drugs only to an extent. The reason for the sale of illegal drugs is primarily for “self-medication” because it is cheaper in the short-term for people to self-medicate and go to jail than to purchase medical insurance or acquire legal medical benefits that are too difficult to acquire. If you notice in the media, more and more US citizens are going out of the United States for medical treatment and prescription drugs. Even more so, cities are getting high from the US government finding and burning marijuana plants which have less adverse consequences per my investigation of the plant than the legal alcohol beverages and tobacco sold in stores. Putting rhyme and reason together, either all illegal drugs should become legal or all non-prescription drugs including alcoholic beverages and tobacco use should become illegal. I simply do not see equal protection under the law. Neither do I see justice for all; I only see justice for those who can afford it. For this reason, I am of the opinion that users of illegal substances are victims of having their rights violated as pertains to equal justice under the law and cruel and unusual punishment which both conflict with President George W. Bush’s "War on Terror."

No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Before Tri-City guided us into a program we are now on, I suffered from both the Workers’ Compensation injury and genetic challenges. The Workers’ Compensation injury exacerbated and complicated genetic challenges (namely high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and a temporary blood disorder), and the Workers’ Compensation insurance decided to not cover me any longer with no warning whatsoever. I was able to find plenty of free medical attention but to help me keep my blood pressure below 230/190 required prescriptions I had no money, insurance, or other means to acquire. Not finding any legal means of acquiring my desperately needed prescriptions left me unable to get the medical attention I actually needed. Fortunately, thanks to Pzifers, which came to me through junk email and Dr. Jaime Garcia’s office Pomona, California, my wife and I both were able to receive our medications and medical attention free of charge. In fact this high blood pressure was what landed me in the Emergency Room five months in a row. I just don’t know how I will ever able to pay these outrageous medical debts at Victor Valley Medical Center. Just I stated, my blood pressure remained at a 230/190 average until Dr. Garcia’s office led me to Dr. Trang Sparks, a much better doctor than any I have ever had.  In fact at my first visit at her office, I passed out from my blood pressure being so high.
