INTRODUCTION

Believe me when I say that I know the plagues of Job as this book will reveal in part, but just as the Lord gives, the Lord also takes away. May those who abandoned and betrayed me and mine find peace of mind in time of need.

Before I began this quest for a peace of mind and of social obligation, I was among those who thought “Get a job!” whenever I would see a panhandler. One day, my friend Norm Angelheart and I went to Universal Studios or someplace like that. I don’t remember. While going in or out, we met a man in the parking lot who asked for spare change. Norm dug into his pocket and gave the man whatever he had. I was pretty critical of his actions, but he responded that he would not have asked if he did not need it. Then he added, “As a Christian, I have no right to judge him. I do, however, have an obligation to obey the word of God.”

That experience has left a most indelible impression on me that became even more indelible by the many experiences to follow as herein mentioned. I attribute my determination to obey my conscience as expressed by this mission to my friend Norm Angelheart as well as the many positive influences in my life such as my loving relatives and friends who guided me in this path both by example and neglect.

Your purpose now unfolds as you begin to serve. In fact, Jesus said that if there is anyone who wants to be great, he must serve (Matthew 20:26), so in many ways, although this ministry is not a religious/faith-based organization, it may be an avenue for many who seek spiritual enlightenment through philanthropy in the truest sense.

World Citizens SIT Ministries LLC is in the business of building up citizens of the United States (to begin with) who 1) are Involuntarily Homeless, 2) are Involuntarily Impoverished, and/or 3) have Special Needs as defined in the Glossary, page 147 of my book which I am selling in PDF format for $30.00 until I find a royalty publisher. Our goal as World Citizens is to help the above mentioned oppressed become self-sustaining, industrious and thrift with their resources (SIT) and to have those who accomplish these goals through this program to help other World Citizens to do the same as outlined in my book and in this web site. These objectives shall be accomplished by having recipients of our services build thriving communities of people who fall into any of the three categories above with their own human, spiritual, and material economy, ecology, community, and training.

During the development of this project, which is based primarily on the business plan in my book that this text comes from, particularly aspects of my book that discuss experiences while we were homeless, I had sought help from family, friends, Congressional Representatives at the state and federal levels, was homeless, very ill, and physically disabled with a wife who suffered from mental illness which almost destroyed our marriage a few times prior to receiving the help she needed after overnight hospitalization a couple of years later, and lived in a car with no one to turn to and oblivious to the assistance that I had paid into during the decades of my working life and was rightfully deserving of.  However, the project itself began as far back as November 1997 when I heard a voice speak to me in my office, and I worry about admitting to this due to how society may react to this fact. Later I found myself praying:

Oh Providence, I pray, when thou callest me to serve, that I might be humble enough to hear thee. When thou takest me I pray that I might not leave my mission unfinished or unattended.

— February 19, 1998, 1:50 PM PT

I then recorded:

My calling in life is to help the poor and the needy. I can hear the call of Providence often, but I am not a religious man. I am not called to bring religion; I am called to serve. Providence has made it clear to me over a period of months that He will provide a way for me to accomplish that which I was sent to Earth for, and all those who hear this same call will be blessed. Those who contribute shall receive confirmation from their God that which I am called to do is of the Almighty.

Considering all the circumstances before me at the time, there was no way that the prophetic voice could possibly be correct. Why in the world would I be told to get a big tent? I was doing just fine materially speaking and making headway with my career as an administrative and office consultant and support, but the absurdity of The Voice predicted that I would be homeless to learn more about my mission. Hereafter, you shall be engaged in the results of this prophetic voice I heard in that office on that beautiful autumn day when all the staff members of my client and I were caught in awe looking out their windows viewing far more rainbows than I have ever seen at one time in my life. In fact, I could not count the number of rainbows on neither hands nor feet. It felt like a good omen to the revelation I had just received that day.

I am extremely ashamed of what I discovered when The Voice proved to be correct, as I’ll discuss further herein. I also find myself repenting daily for my ignorance and thoughtlessness in pre-homelessness times, but I need to always express my gratitude to my best friends to this day (being April 2, 2008) Allison Kelleher-Archibald and her husband Michael who amid these most difficult times (and when they had enough challenges of their own on their plates at the time) did not ever abandon us as all others whom I enjoined as friends and family did. I desire to assume that my friends and family did not know the reasons I was actually experiencing these challenges in my life, as the stereotypes and stigmas of the homeless were ingrained in their mind instead of that they were all just inhumane, ignorant, self-centered, and wicked people. To a very rare degree, I praise Allah for Allison and Michael, these two beautiful people, and look forward to working with honorable and loyal people like them in this very demanding and unnerving challenge ahead of me. May Allah always keep His bountiful favors upon them, The World Citizens Ministry, and all those whom Allah has promised in His Holy Qur’ān if they assist me in these efforts as well as all of you who assist in the success in this most marvelous, wonderful demand placed upon us all.

We shall answer herein the flowing demands of society per my firsthand experience as a helpless, physically disabled, and Involuntarily Homeless citizen of the United States. All bylaws of The Organization shall assimilate with the goals and objectives outlined in the most recent business plan which can be found in my book and which is found herein to an extent.

Demands for World Citizens SIT Ministries LLC

The demands for World Citizens SIT Ministries LLC, hereafter referred to as The Organization, is ever on the increase as the designated resources earmarked specifically for The Oppressed by all government agencies and several churches are becoming quickly depleted as the result of not turning those in need of these resources into human resources with the goal of replenishment of such needed and wanted resources, an evidence that their mission is solely to give handouts versus this mission which is to give hands up instead of handouts.

The demands for The Organization are ever on the increase as the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) discovers that too much of the nation’s resources have been designated for Homeland Security as evidenced by Katrina’s toll on the people of New Orleans and surrounding areas. In fact, this Business Plan, in my humble opinion, should be funded by FEMA and should eventually be accountable to FEMA once it has been set in place. It should anger anyone who understands the situation of Katrina versus the California’s Oppressed that we can afford to send aid out to Katrina victims in New Orleans while the Involuntarily Homeless right here in California cannot get back on their feet because the resources that were sent to Katrina victims are not being used the way they are being used outside of California. You go figure.  To further aggravate situations, Governor Schwarzenegger cut out the AB 2034 funds that were to help the mentally ill who were challenged in the area of homelessness in order to provide tax benefits for Yacht Owners!

The demands for The Organization are ever on the increase as organizations such as the National Coalition for the Homeless lobby for The Oppressed and investigate:

• The billions of dollars dedicated specifically for the homeless crises in California and throughout the United States that somehow very few homeless people ever benefit from as the result of being disqualified from receiving benefits for not having proof of a local, permanent residential address as happened to my wife and me many times during the summer of 2005 in San Bernardino County, California. This will be discussed in sections below. The irony of homelessness in the United States is that, to qualify for most of the programs and assistance earmarked for helping the homeless, the homeless citizen has to have proof of residency in the area, namely a physical residential address. That’s why the funds are able to slip through so many administrative expenses and escape helping those the funds are earmarked to assist. At least, that is what I learned from my experienced.
• The Constitutional violations committed against The Oppressed as outlined below.  The oppressed have no recourse unless they by chance happen to run across someone like Gloria Alred to represent them, which most of us Oppressed do not have.

The demands for The Organization are on the increase as businesses, politicians, law enforcement, and the general non-homeless population seek to rid the homeless from their communities without consideration of where the homeless may safely go and how the homeless may sustain themselves once they leave these communities and as they stop begging for the help they need and do not know how to acquire. This in turn becomes another community’s challenge.  The attitude in society in general is "That's their problem, not mine."  That's what they think, but they have something coming to them soon enough, and the attitude of those they summon for help will be the same.

Having been homeless myself, I have been allowed to see firsthand how The Oppressed are persecuted, are quickly stereotyped, have their Constitutional rights violated almost hourly, and are made to suffer emotional, social, mental, psychological, physical, and financial trauma. There was a time when I would be thinking and my wife would ask me why I was speaking “such nonsense.” I would reply that I didn’t say anything, but I did indeed think that. The same thing happened in both directions a lot until we realized that this was a bizarre phenomenon of being homeless which we never heard of until we personally experienced it. Those homeless people whom we had seen over the years prior to our own homelessness were not necessarily schizophrenic or mentally ill as we thought. The majority of the homeless we met who were not mentally ill and who unconsciously spoke out loud were merely suffering from this phenomenon that comes from being homeless after a while.

For that reason and as many organizations seek to help the homeless find housing, have their Constitutional rights restored, and get fed and clothed, my goals and objectives only support these admirable efforts through the approach of supporting and forming the population of the Involuntarily Homeless into productive communities that become self-sustaining, industrious, and thrift in a way that affects the homeless in nearby communities across the globe because I firmly believe that Allah has provided the human, material, and spiritual resources necessary to make involuntary homelessness, involuntary poverty, and Special Needs inexcusable.  In fact, here is a direct quote from what I heard from The Voice:

I, the Lord Thy God, have provided all the material and spiritual resources in the world to find poverty, hunger, poverty of human dignity, crime, and involuntary homelessness inexcusable. While My religion is Truth, the cosmos is bound by Laws and Balances. What is lacking shall be filled. Those who accept these words as Mine shall be led by the promises I have revealed to My Prophets, for I reveal nothing except through My Servants, The Prophets.

Although we are not in the business of politicizing and lobbying for our cause, we shall engage in activities that promote the well being of the general public particularly in the area of involuntary homelessness and involuntary poverty. In the proposed business plan, you will see that our goal is to gather resources to help people such as us become and remain self-sustaining and industrious enough to have a backup plan if a change in industry happens or if the current means of self-sustenance is no longer available for whatever reason.

This brings up the subject of mental wellness as it pertains to remaining self-sustaining and industrious. Mental illness can be a day to day thing; one day you are just fine and for no apparent reason you are mentally ill the next day. As the result of mental illness, many people require accommodations just as any other ADA certified citizen at times. How do we deal with and accommodate for mental illness in the work place or in a career? Quite often, mental illness is quite an unapparent reason for many people going from job to job, having social or financial challenges, keeping much less even remembering commitments, and so forth. It’s probably more difficult at times for the mentally ill than the physically ill only because mental illness is not so transparent. That is an additional challenge that will add to the unnerving facts about my mission.

The reason I am doing this solo initially is due to the fact that in my attempts to seek a hand up from family, friends, government agencies, other agencies, and strangers alike, the help that I needed to support my wife and me never came. We received many short-term handouts that by all means were appreciated, but obviously these handouts were not enough to help us get back on our feet. By means of becoming a non-profit organization (IRC §501(c)(3)) and with my business administration and consulting background, I am most confident that I can legally help myself become self-sustaining and industrious and utilize the resources I gather to help others do the same. By “legal,” I admit that out in the real world, as many in the rugged outdoors would call it, we were among the few who did not resort to prostitution, drug dealing, and any other form of acquiring illegal income although all these opportunities availed us and were tremendously more profitable than most legal means of making a living, and these illegal opportunities still remain in front of us. Even going to prison would not have made a dent in my potential material life as a career criminal, but for personal and moral reasons we chose to obey principles we believe in.

Amid all the abandonment that I have faced, all the sleep and all the material possessions I have lost and all the hemorrhoids (metaphorically speaking as well as physically) I have suffered, I believe that this will be a good and righteous jihada for restoring to The Oppressed citizens their Constitutional rights along with their human dignity as we Muslims are called to do in the Holy Qur‘ān. It is so urgent to understand how important The Organization is to me because by the grace of Allah I have survived something that I never knew possible for me nor understood until I experienced it myself. When my wife and I officially became literally homeless we moved into a tent at the Victorville KOA Kamp. I was suffering physically beyond imagination and was mentally and psychologically unable to maintain a healthy frame of mind, not able to think clearly nor able to get out of what some people call a “fog.” I took a walk one day, carrying a nice sturdy rope near the end of our allowed time on the premises with no place to go, no alternatives to help us live meaningful lives, and to ever receive our human dignity back.

When I found a tree that was tall enough with a branch sturdy enough to sit on, I climbed it. I sat there a while on that branch, and I remember sitting there in pain because my back hurt terribly from the back injuries incurred years prior.  I was reminiscing on the relapses that would force me into the wheelchair which I have always hated and the times I had no other means of getting around except by crawling on my hands and knees because I could not stand or walk. I could not believe that I was suffering so much financial and social hardship and rejection. No one took us in who could. This rejection exacerbated the extremely depressed emotions, and all reason to live was gone from my heart and soul, and I saw no reason whatsoever to exist anymore. I tied the rope to the branch I was sitting on, and then placed the noose around my neck and secured the other end tightly.

I had been sitting there for some time, and the branch was holding me up just fine, and then I jumped. I passed out a second or two it seemed and looked around me. There was a big branch the size of what I was sitting on around and partially on top of me, and I noticed that the tree I had climbed up had broken about two feet above the trunk. I cursed out loud and cried, “I fail at everything, even trying to kill myself!”

You have to remember; I was not mentally all there. As soon as I was able to see my orthopedist about my back pains, I mentioned this incident, and I was able to get help. Then came Tri-City, an organization that saved my life when I lost all hope for living again, only they took it a step further. They helped me feel better about myself and got my wife and me the help we needed. The reason that tree broke was not because it was weak; it held my weight and showed no sign whatsoever of giving way. I was made to survive to accomplish what you are reading in this book.

I believe that the inspiration behind this jihada for self-sustenance comes directly from the Almighty who provides for and cares for His own. Although this is not a faith-based ministry, it is indeed a ministry like the United States Ministry of Defense that gives aid or service to those in need whom government agencies, churches, and other charitable organizations are unable to or will not provide due to the limitation and or improper depletion of resources. It is a ministry with the intent of pulling the various resources of such organizations together to meet the goals and objectives of this specific and special mission.

PLEASE NOTE: This ministry is not about handouts. It’s not an organization of religion like the Salvation Army, Victory Outreach, or the Fred Jordan Mission. This is about the individual without discrimination based on religious, political, or sexual preferences. There are plenty of resources for short-term handouts for food, clothing, general relief, career development, job placement, and employment search, etc., which are all a great start, but this ministry is primarily about a hand up and the above listed short-term handouts will be of utmost appreciation in the process. The challenge that keeps the percentage of homeless people from rising above their circumstances or from stabilizing their lives is due to crooked organizations, even hypocritical religious organizations that make the resources I just mentioned inaccessible. This ministry is about commitment to better living, networking to promulgate needed resources, and service instead of being forced to be a leech on the taxpaying society, our domestically terrorist government as regards the Oppressed, and my own hard earned tax dollars. Not everyone in need will benefit from nor agree with what I am seeking to build from The Organization due to voluntary dispositions, but those whom I serve and those who serve The Organization shall benefit society as a whole wherever The Organization is supported and thrives.

PLEASE NOTE: This ministry shall require accountability from every participant. Every single participant will take an active part in building the SIT Communities in exchange for the services that will be provided in order that each participant can develop resumes, meet the goals and objectives of The Organization as regards each individual participant, and fund the process of providing such services to others as needed and also in order to branch out to prevent improper use of resources. In this way, The Organization itself seeks to also become SIT, while owing to and receiving from the Welfare Programs of the Government, on a federal as well as state and local levels, a measure of accountability and support.
